Spay-Neuter
Integrated Veterinary Services’ mission is to provide low-cost spay/neuter services. This does not mean low QUALITY, however. Dr. Tracey has performed tens of thousands of spay-neuter procedures. Our anesthesia protocol is extremely safe and effective and includes two different pain medications. We also perform local blocks on every patient, so three different forms of pain control are working to keep your pet comfortable. There is one-on-one monitoring from the time your pet is induced (goes under anesthesia) until he or she is awake enough to go back to the cat or dog room.
So how do we keep fees so affordable?
We have very low overhead. What overhead we do have is spread out over a fairly large number of surgeries per day. And because all we do is spay-neuter, we do not have to have x-ray machines, bloodwork machines, dental equipment, etc. All this equipment is very expensive and these costs must be built into the fee structure at a regular practice.
We DO NOT participate in pet health insurance or Care Credit.
We DO NOT participate in pet health insurance or Care Credit. You are welcome to a copy of the medical record, but we do NOT issue itemized invoices. So please don’t ask. If you would like to use your pet’s insurance for spay/neuter, you should schedule the procedure at your regular veterinarian.
Registration Process
WE WILL NOT ACCEPT PATIENTS WHO HAVE CERTAIN CHRONIC CONDITIONS, SUCH AS SEIZURE DISORDER, CLOTTING ISSUES, HEART OR OTHER ORGAN FAILURE, ADRENAL GLAND DISORDERS. IF YOUR PET HAS MEDICAL PROBLEMS PLEASE CALL TO DISCUSS BEFORE SCHEDULING SURGERY.

Additional Info
Pain Meds
All pets are given three different types of pain medication at the time of surgery. For dogs it lasts 24 hours and for cats up to three days. Most pets are completely covered for pain with this protocol, but we want you to have the option of additional pain medications for dogs if you think your pet may need them.
Additional Charges
Additional charges may apply if animal is in heat or pregnant, aggressive, obese, or over 100lbs
Parasites
- Parasites– Ear mite treatment is $5.
- We must treat all animals who come in with fleas so we don’t contaminate the building or other pets. Flea Treatment is $20 for dogs over 50lb, $15 for dogs 11lb-50lb, and $10 for cats and dogs under 10lb.
Vaccinations
By law, we can issue a 3 year rabies certificate only if you provide a previous rabies certificate.
Vaccinations are only provided for animals having surgery.
What to Expect
- Prior to surgery– No food after midnight the night before, water is okay.
- Cats should come in a clean, hard-sided cat carrier. One pet per carrier please! Also, we cannot guarantee your cat’s safety in a soft-sided carrier. Please line the carrier with a small towel you do not care about. Towels sometimes become soiled during the day. Your cat will be spending the day in the carrier so please consider this when considering the size of the carrier.
- We do not stock cones. If you think your pet will bother the incision, you can get a cone from your regular vet or a pet/farm store.
- Day of surgery– Please arrive at 1155 Stewart’s Corners Rd, Genoa, NY 13071 between 7:30am and 9:30am
- We have stayed with the covid-era practice of car-side service—we found that drop-off and pick-up actually goes more smoothly this way!
- We will be watching for you but feel free to text 315-730-3934 to let us know you are here. A staff member will come to your car to check you in and take your pet to the building.
- Please inform us if your dog has any anxiety or aggression issues. In these cases we will have you accompany your dog inside for sedation
- No children under 18 years of age are allowed to handle dogs.
- There is a additional charge of $40 -$80 to cover the cost of extra meds and time required to deal with dangerous dogs. If we deem your dog unhandleable, we reserve the right to cancel your dog’s procedure. If your dog’s behavior requires you to stay with him/her to ensure the safety of our staff, but you cannot comply, we reserve the right cancel your dog’s procedure. Your deposit will not be refunded.
- After surgery– Dog pickup is 3-5:30pm the same day, unless otherwise noted. Cat pick-up is 5-5:30pm the same day, unless otherwise noted.
- The balance is due at pick-up. Cash, check, venmo, or card is accepted. Extra charges may apply if your pet is pregnant, has fleas or ear mites, is aggressive, or weighs over 100 lbs.
- All animals receive three (3) types of pain medication the day of surgery. This combination works very well for most pets. Additional pain meds ($10) are available to take home if you feel your pet has a low pain threshold.
