Acupuncture for cats & Dogs

Safe, gentle, and effective, acupuncture helps pets heal and feel better without pharmaceuticals, or if a pet is at maximum doses of conventional meds.

Dry Needle Acupuncture

The most basic form of acupuncture.  I use sterile, single-use acupuncture needles.  on all patients.

Aqua-acupuncture:

Liquids and medicines can be injected at acupuncture points. This is like getting extra mileage out of a medicine you are going to give anyway!  The substance hangs out at the acupuncture point for a bit, prolonging the stimulation of the point.

Electro-acupuncture

Small clips can be attached to acupuncture needles after they are in place in the patient. Then a small current can be passed through the points.  This technique strengthens and prolongs the stimulation of the acupuncture point.  It is very useful in conditions of pain and nerve problems.

Hemoacupuncture

This involves using a slightly larger needle and causing a small amount of blood (1 drop) to come out of the acupuncture point. This is usually done at the tip of the tail and/or the tip of the ear.  This method is useful for extreme heat conditions, such as high fever or severe inflammation, or severe “stagnation”, or blockage of Qi, as in inter-vertebral disk disease.
